The archive has arrived!
Following the ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the Schrader Family Association, members and guests of the 76th Family Day were able to see the archive and its location in Jerichow Monastery for themselves during a guided tour on Saturday.
Archivist Bernd Schrader took everyone to the area of the monastery that is closed to the public.
Here in the south wing, the archive is housed in a light-flooded and heated room – a significant improvement on the previous situation.

The sight of the archive sparked amazement and admiration – and enthusiasm among those who still remember working in the old archive in the cool, dim light, when work was only really possible on warm summer days.

Following the archivist’s introductory explanation, books, magazines and photographs from days gone by were immediately picked up and examined.
Interest was correspondingly high.
